thanks to eskay @ nah right, as always.

P is back, and he’s straight gun poppin’ as always. But is it a classic?
After nearly a decade of waiting, and just before his impending bid for gun possesion, Mobb Deep’s Prodigy follows up his solo debut H.N.I.C with this sequel. Much like Stillmatic would never be another Illmatic, I don’t think anyone expected there was anyway Prodigy could have followed up H.N.I.C. with anything that had the same fire and freshness, but, I gotta hand it to him, it ain’t half bad. But it’s no a classic. Full Download and Tracklist after the JUMP. Read the rest of this entry »
New East Flatbush Project!?!? Oh shit!
The last time I featured Spencer Bellamy’s East Flatbush Project was more than two years ago, when buzz started to build that a new full length, First Born, was ready to drop.
Well, imagine my wig flipping when I check my inbox and hot damn if there isn’t a NEW single waiting for me.
Staying true to the underground on the lyrical tip with guests Stress and Peter Pallis from Anaka trading dope lines like “Gone off the red bull and bacardi limin’, I pull over ot the curb with a slight swerve, the car smellin like light ‘erb”, the beat on this one is a much more commercial sounding joint that most of the EFP work I’ve got in my collection. Now, Don’t get it twisted, it knocks with some seriously pimped out “November Rain” guitar riffs and some nice, mid-tempo drumwork to give a real NYC through tinted windows vibe, plus I’m feeling those snaps! Very Cinematic, and if this is what we’ve been waiting for, Spencer man, take your time.

PS: Still don’t know if this is coming out on 10/30 or another label. Anyone got news?
