Cilvaringz: The story so far…

Cilvaringz’s dropped a new album and I’m late to the party. I got a shitload of material to cover, so get ready for some serious Kung-Fu….

Cilvaringz is a interesting case of some rappers just taking a real long damn time to drop albums. It’s a common syndrome, mostly (but not always) afflicting underground rappers. Black Rob: 10 years, 2 albums. Blackstar: 10 Years, One Album. The Lox. You get the deal.
Hailing from Holland, Cilvaringz, (Government: Tarik Azzougarh), famously jumped on stage at a Wu-tang show almost 10 years ago to this day (May 26th, 97) in Amsterdam, spit a 2 minute freestlye before getting yoked, Impressed the RZA, Follwed him to NYC after some bullshit prevented the EU connection. Here’s a jack from his press kit about the meeting, and I think it’s some good shit:
In December ‘97, Cilvaringz went on his first trip to New York determined to find RZA. RZA however, had moved most of Wu-Tang’s business to Los Angeles and was out of town. Still motivated and not want to give up, he kept flying back and forth to New York between 1997 and 1999.
During his many brief visits to the Clan’s office, nail studio and the Wu-Wear clothing store, Cilvaringz met a few people close to RZA and ultimately managed to hand his demo to RZA’s mother Linda Hamlin (RIP) and sister Sophia Diggs.
In 1999, after numerous letters and CDs, Cilvaringz, now on his fifth trip to New York, decided to camp in front of the Razor Sharp Records office during office hours and wait until RZA or any of his close associates came by.
Cilvaringz relates: “I knew he was in town from talking to Clan associates whom I met during my previous visits to New York. It was only a matter of time before RZA would stop by the office, so the best thing was really to just wait. I didn’t trust anyone with my demo but him.”
Rap Cliché aside, that’s pretty dope.
I remember reading about Killa B Ching coming out in like 2001, but did it?
So it was suprising to see a new Cilvaringz album out. Aside from Wu appearances and Compilations, this would be his first real release since 2000’s Semi-Legit “Killa B. Ching” album (( My copy is apparently a bootleg, and I’m unsure if it ever really came out. It’s reaaaallly crufty so I cant be held accountable for it’s legitimacy. Also, every CD I’ve ever seen of this guy has been some totally ebay bootleg shit )) That’d be 7 years for those of you who are mathtarded. I also have an instrumental comp, which Ill be highlighting some of a little later.
I grabbed a few of the included instrumentals off of “Killa B Ching” for y’all on that tip, and I’m gonna sit down, peep this new album, and review it for y’all (with bootleg link, obviously) for tommorow. But first I thought you you get aquainted with his previous shit. Production wise (( Another fun fact: Dude makes his own beats if he’s not rocking Tru Master / RZA productions. )), and for his Mic skills, I threw in a few illy tracks with Beretta 9 and some, of course, vintage sword raps. Do-do-do-do-do.
First up:
The Trivia
Produced by: Cilvaringz
And interlude that’s vintage Wu at it’s best.
War & Peace
Produced by: Cilvaringz
Another interlude, but this one is genius. The beat is pure dusty Wu, and the sample rides it perfectly. Not much else to say, really. Production wise, he’s got a really subtle style that’s less abrasive than Bronze Nazareth, and this shit is older still! Also, don’t play it anywhere near an airport.
Energy
Ft. Beretta 9 & 4th Disciple
Produced by Tru Master
A propulsive 60’s guitar and subtle horns gives traction for 3 hungry Wu 2nd stringers to rap their way out of weed carrier status. One of my all time hidden favorites.
Gold Bell Cover
Produced by: Cilvaringz 4Th Disciple
This one comes right after the War & Peace interlude and carries the mood forward perfectly. Choppy jazz stabs and simple drumwork give Cilvaringz a chance to speak some knowledge. This guy is like Euro Bronze Nazareth, I’m telling you. Updated: My bad, It’s produced by 4th Disciple, thanks to the heads for setting me straight.
So that should get you caught up…and ready for his new shit.

As far as I know, Gold Bell Cover was produced by 4th Disciple… and it’s a hell of a beat!

I thought Gold Bell Cover was a 4th Disciple production…
Can anyone shed some light on this?
