I’m dropping a gem on y’all before I let all you herbs in on a little news. So last month I got to check off a SERIOUS goal on my underground rap “to-do” list…I got to work with a cat I came up listening to, who’s always been on my top-five Canadian MC list…..

. For those that don’t know, learn, cause he’s one of the best to do it up north, period. Hard to believe (for us in the dot at least) that it was five long years between Ecology, his now-classic ‘99 debut produced with his team Erf Productions, and No Division in 2005, an album I though was pretty sick, but wasn’t handled right AT ALL by Urbnet, (fitting with their standrad M.O. of now videos and no promo).

Math came through the lab and dropped knowledge for Logikal Ethix & Unknown Mizery’s soon-to-be-released debut CD “Plantation Music” and with LAL coming through to work the hook, I think we got a certified classic on our hands.

I can’t hook you up with unreleased instro’s of mine now can I: so I’m digging in the vaults and giving you nerds a gift for the post holiday slump I was in, Mathematik’s classic “Rhyme Training” instrumental, and for those of you down south or overseas, I’m hitting you with the vocal version as well. Yeah, you’re welcome.

This is an infamous Toronto beat, simple, with the PHATUP old-school break and a melody so light it just floats. Built for MC’s who can handle their shit. It’s not a show stopper, but a supporting actor, setting up Math to broadcast his thoughts. There’s reasons why his debut still get’s talked about 7 years after. Reasons like this….
