While people fiend for Cuban Linx 2, More Fish and Rza’s next mindfuck, I’m feelin’ like i’m talking to a brick wall when I bring up the 2nd round Wu affiliates in coverstaion. Now I know their records haven’t been that great, I mean, who let Northstar out the gate? The last Sunz of Man was wack, Killarmy fell the fuck off years ago and I won’t even touch U-God’s last album with a ten-foot shit pole. But their is still hope people! Enter: Royal Fam.

All I have on 12″ is the track they did years back with I’AM, french Wu affiliates and dope ass francorappers, so until a few months back if you’d ask me about the fam I’d yawn and be all like “Fuck that shit, David Banner bitch! Shit!”. And then Think Differently dropped and I got an update. Timbo King, where you been son? DAMN!

All three royal Fam mainstays, Prodigal Sunn, Dreddy Krueger and Timbo King knock them out, dropping much better verses than the poitnless Aesop Rock cameos or U-God’s ridiculous snore-fest. And out of em, I’m puttin this up to put you herbs onto Timbo King, because I just grabbed his album “Artillery portraits and masterpeices” and the motherfuck is a banger. This joint right here though is from 2003, features Masta Killa and has production duties handled by Nature Sounds’ Dev-1, who pulls off a classic yet somehow up-to-date Wu sound that would be right at home on Iron Flag.

So, while your here for the free instrumentals and complimentary cheese tray, try and learn something. Lesson for the day? Wu-tang still has some life left in em, you just gotta look for it. Also, that’s some good-ass motherfuckin cheese!
