The Timbaland Post…

Timbaland

Timbaland Instrumentals

I’ll come right out and say it. I love Timbaland the fuck off, like Stans love Curtis and Marshall. Now, some of you may know that I likes me my sampler. Many of the cuts featured here, samples. I always loved the sound, the skill. “Fuck that Synth shit” I’d say “What is it, a Cameo record? Trance music? Euro-Disco?!?! Fuck that, I’m keepin’ real with my Sp1200 made 8-bar loops and my same 15 drum breaks!”

Then Alliayh Dropped at around the same time as Missy, and then those beats for Hova! Timbaland changed the way I thought about Hip-Hop. Synths. Being grimey. But also sounding better than samples? Say it ain’t so.

Being a gear head, I embarked on a quest to find out what the fuck he used to make these sounds. No luck. Except for ONE article with FutureMusic where he let it slip he uses a computer for almost all of it now, he’s never given a interview where he gave any clue as to how he comes up with his tracks. I know some of that shit is sampled, and I know he makes (literally) his own drum sounds (with a program called stomper? anyone know?), but that’s about it. This bothers me, because even after the Neptunes have become stale, Little Jon’s one trick dried up and other Keyboard jockeys come and go (Cool & Dre anyone?), he still continues to push his own sound, trends be damned, and he still does it so well. Fuck it, I like that Nelly Furtado beat. Sue me.

This isn’t a case of “Why haven’t you heard of him” By now everybody and their mother has heard of him. It’s a case of why don’t you all appreciate him? He’s saving hip-hop as much as a new Large Pro album or a hundred Nas / Primo combo’s could. He paid his dues. I mean, coming up with Jodeci and Magoo? In a geeky high-school band with Pharell and Chad Hugo? Failed deals (Sista Swing?) and then some not so failed. Missy. Ludacris. Aaliyah. Pony. Jigga. And so on.

I can even forgive shit like Magoo and Bubba Sparks and Ms. Jade. And I even like Timberlake’s album.

So as a refresher course, I’ve compiled some of his best, most “Timbaland” work I got…today, even though I already posted, it’s all Timbaland instrumentals.

Educate yourselves now:

The Game - Put you on the game

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

It grew on me and now ranks as one of the most straighy gully beats Tim’s ever done

Jay-Z Ft. Juevenille - Snoopy Track*

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

I don’t care what you all think of Juevenille. This track is the perfect embodiment of Timbo’s early 2000’s sound. Heavy on the Jungle music / Electro sounds, but so deep with it’s engineering that it can still suprise you.

Jay-Z - Dirt off your shoulder

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

A monster.

Bubba Sparxxx - Ugly

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

Don’t care. Also a monster. It was everywhere, and even after the hacks had sped up every last Bollywood record they could, and stolen every djembe sample, Tim proves you cannot…I repeat…cannot fuck with this guy.

Missy Eliot - She’s a Bitch

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

It launched Missy fully into the “I don’t care, I’ve got Timbaland Instrumentals and also, I may be from space” era.

Missy Eliot - Hot Boys*

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

It’s not like I bump the song or anything. But come on? the *’s mean “Hater Free Zone“. My site, no hating on these beats. We’d still be getting R Kelly synth beats and Swizz Beats casio backwash if this shit hadn’t dropped.

Aaliyah - Are you that somebody

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

Amazing.

Petey Pablo - Raise up*

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

Not what you’d expect from Petey, but Tim’s good like that. Curve balls. Did you expect timerlake to be on the electro beat of the new millenium? No, you didn’t.

Ginuwine - You owe me*

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

Beacuse I couldn’t over look his contribution to Timbaland’s sound, but I can’t bring myself to post “Pony”.

Aaliyah - We need a resolution*

(Instrumental)-(Produced by Timbaland) - Download

Single handedly the best modern RNB beat. Period. (Full stop, for my europeans.)

  1. Your site is the best.

  2. But you need to do something about your wackass ID3 tags. Damn. I suggest you make the ‘album’ field of all of them ’spliffhuxtable.com’ for easy iTunes oganization / word of mouth referrals.

  3. That Put You on the Game beat is a monster. Probably my favorite Timbaland beat.

  4. Re: The id3 tags…I gave you 11 free beats in a day and this is how you repay me?!?!

Kidding, I thought about it, but then said, fuck it. My ID3 tags are immaculate in every other post so I got a little lazy. Whatever. I’ll fix em later.

  5. Again, dopeness. This site is so sick!!!

Fuck these haters man, you give me a break from class all the time. Good to see yuor back and at it with these monster producer featurez. Hot hot hot. If you down in the Midwest holla at a brother man,.

  6. Ya, Tim is dope no question. I think his best work was his beats for Aaliyah. His main problem is he does too many tracks with shitty rappers who dont do his joints justice (Magoo, Missy, Petey Pablo etc..). That Nelly track sucks dick tho!

  7. Well, you can’t front on a producer gettin’ a paycheck. I do however like how with Timbaland instrumentals there is a clear “A grade” / “B grade” thing going on. Hova, Missy: A grade. Petey Pablo, Ms. jade, Lil’ Kim…B grade. You can tell when he’s havin a good time (Cry me a River) and when he’s gettin’ a cheque (The Jump Off)

  8. Nice! How ’bout some Heatmakerz!?

  9. What for a great site!!! It´s a really fresh source for fresh beats and btw your new design is nice.

    Boreas

  10. Excellent post, Timbaland is in my top 5 producers easy.

  11. Dr. Huxtable keepin it gully as always! I agree, fix those tags man! Pain in da ass. But still it’s not much to bitch at, you’re site is ill.

For my riders in natti!!!!!!! Keep it real!!!1

  12. fuck heatmakerz, half-rate just blaze rip offs. We want da real thing. Hit us with some R.O.C.!!

  13. Keyboards are shite!!! Thye ruined classic hip-hop…fuck these timberlake faggits and this little jon shite. gimme a hot sample man, that’s hiphop. go back to posting classics like dead prezidents.

  14. fuck that! just blaze, rza, kanye all use keyboards. it ain’t the player man, it’s the game!

samples can be just as played out: jermaine dupree

  15. Aaliyah R.I.P. - Tim made her a star.

oops, forgot: please put up some new busta if yo got it =)

  18. alright…you posted some hot shit. but if we’re judging timbaland’s merit as a producer…you have to post a track off of timberlake’s new or old albm. yeah it aint masculine per say, but dude killed those beats…and made timberlake a bigger star than he was prior.

    my 2 cents.

  19. timbo is king for a reason, but he had a lot of non commercial joints that bump if not harder than the countless chart toppers.. I challenge anyone who is a true timbo fan to check ”tnt” feat twista or his hottest joint in my opinion, off his last album with c.g. nelson ”goin’ crazy” his beats can set the tone of your mindstate at the time u play it.. he’s a genius
