Seven Days of Diamond D. (Part 6)

Diamond D. - MC Is My Ambition (Instrumental) - Download
Coming close to a close my peoples…only one more after today’s and we’re done with the Diamond. We’re gonna touch on his 1997 release, the much debated “Hatred, Passions and Infidelity”, which I think has got to have one of the corniest titles in Rap music history. But this beat is a classic, again, with those guitar loops…this time in a reggae/jazz steelo. The way he slowly brings the strings in and out half-way in is genius and the vocal (courtesy of Reggae vocalist Sister Nancy from 1985’s Bam Bam) really holds the whole thing together nicely. D. never really broke any crazy molds with production, but he had the ear for those loops you could listen to for 5 minutes on end…you know, for rappers to rap to?
