The dual grind of the day-job and music is really starting to wear on me, so I puff a little green and start to randomly spin-up some tracks, and I totally forget I have these , untill “I’ve Been Thinking” comes on, and then I remember that Prince Paul is one of the best in the game. Listen to the two modes he rocks on these White People Instrumentals, each sounding like pure “Prince amongst theives”; the nostalgic, WU-Style piano and string combo VS. the lurching clavinet and reggae guitar jam…why isn’t Paul producing for more cats these days? I mean, Automators obviously happy doing tracks about food or spacships or monekys or whatever theme schtick he’s on that week, but Paul…I mean Gravediggaz. De la soul. Can’t you lace Dipset with a joint and just blow the fuck up already?
